Cisco Bug: CSCte68768 - snmpwalk of portType giving wrong values in switch-stack

Last Modified

Feb 22, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

12.2(53)SE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
doing snmpwalk for 'portType' (OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.4.1.1.5.1)
gives wrong values for the fixed copper-ports on non-members of a switchstack

the output of the SFP-port is always showing the correct value, also on non-master-switch(es)

Conditions:
observed with 3750G-24TS or 3750G-48TS switches running 12.2(50)SE up to 12.2(53)SE
(didn't test earlier versions)

we will return a value of 31 (e1000Empty) for the fixed copper-gigports on non-master members of a switchstack,
while 61 (e10a100a1000BaseT) would be expected
