Description (partial)

Symptom:
SSO credentials aren't passed after a URL redirect within Smart Tunnel.

Conditions:
User clicks on a smart tunnel link from portal page. SSO credentials are properly passed to first site. Site does a lookup on user's AD credentials and redirects to different URL based on AD policy. The SSO credentials are not passed to secondary URL and user is prompted for credentials.

HTTP_Watch captures indicate first authentication is NTLM. The later authentication at the redirect site involves a series of POST requests without forms but with some kind of XML.
