Description (partial)

Symptom:

On some older handset models with an EDGE connection and two bars, the application may appear to be stuck.  

Conditions:

a red x and an empty circle in the top line (no message) is displayed.  
The Status shows  "Not updated". 
The app is responsive, but does not appear to be trying to reconnect. 
If attempt to Sign Out,  select  "Yes", I want to exit button, 
the device might freeze.  

After awhile a message appears saying Uncaught Exception in cisco_cumc_en (not responding).
