Cisco Bug: CSCte37124 - RSCN was not sent after device alias deletion in enhanced mode

Last Modified

Mar 16, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches

Known Affected Releases

3.3(1.100)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
RSCNs are not sent out to the affected devices when the device alias members
present in the active zoneset are changed.

 Condition:
This happens when the device alias mode is enhanced.

 Workaround(s):
No workaround, this is fixed in NX-OS 4.2(3a)

Further Problem Information:

This bug will be hit :

1) When a empty device alias member present in the active zoneset is linked
to a PWWN after activation.
2) When a existing device alias in the active zoneset is deleted from the
device alias database.

This problem will not be hit when a device-alias is simply renamed since
no RSCN needs to be sent in that case.
