Symptom: Excluding VLAN 1 from a system uplink (type ethernet) port-profile on the Nexus 1000V will result in a sysmgr daemon crash, as seen below. 2010 Jan 11 16:16:00 jz-n1k %SYSMGR-2-SERVICE_CRASHED: Service "portprofile" (PID 3322) hasn't caught signal 6 (core will be saved). Conditions: A system uplink (type ethernet) port-profile must be configured to exclude VLAN 1, as seen below. show run port-profile system.uplink version 4.0(4)SV1(2) port-profile type ethernet system.uplink vmware port-group switchport mode trunk switchport trunk native vlan 158 switchport trunk allowed vlan 108-109,158,208,308,408 switchport trunk allowed vlan except 1 channel-group auto mode on sub-group cdp no shutdown system vlan 108 state enabled The "switchport trunk allowed vlan except 1" will result in a daemon crash. Executing a "show run" or other equivalent "show" command will ultimately crash the Virtual Supervisor Module.
