Description (partial)

Symptom:
We had a couple of issues where we need some extra logging to help determine the issue.
One was unable to activate an SSL server because of an error sending the config to the SSL module. It turned out we had run into a strange memory leak, but if we had known it was because
an alloc failed it would have been easier to understand what was going wrong. Another problem we have is getting the filedb (the file containing the ssl cert/key database) out of sync with the actual files in the ssl certificiate directory. We added some logging in error places that did not previously have error reporting.

Conditions:
            UNKNOWN
