Cisco Bug: CSCtd92191 - Palo ESX - SP needs to enforce 58 max vifs for Ventura
Mar 26, 2015
- Cisco Unified Computing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Creating and associating a service profile with a large number of vifs may not raise a configuration error, but, may result in association failure. Conditions: UCSM will limit the number of vifs based on the adapter capability not the operating system. For example, a PALO adaptor will allow 58 vifs and a dual PALO adaptor blade can support double this amount. If adaptor supported maximum vifs are violated, a configuration error will be raised. However, if this number is not exceeded, service profile association may still fail if the host operating system does not support the configured number of vifs. For example, a blade with dual PALO adapters will allow up to 116 vifs, however, ESX can only support 58 vifs per host. Thus, configuring 80 vifs could end in association failure.
