Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Application Deployment Engine

Known Affected Releases

5.0(0.18)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
If DNS does not contain DNS entry for the ACS IP, it will not be able to Join the Domain and it will time out.
The message that the ACS throws is:
"Saved settings, but error in joining domain. Error: Timeout occurred communicating with AD domain controller."

ACS Express documentation does not mention that a DNS entry for the ACS needs to be created in order the ACS to be able to join the domain.
This should be documented.

Conditions:
Try to join an ACS to the domain, when there is no DNS entry for the ACS on the DNS server.
