Cisco Bug: CSCtd81567 - Invalid jitter results calculated by the SLA library

Last Modified

Jan 18, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

3.9.0.BASE 4.0.0.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:

SLA jitter statistics displayed by <CmdBold>show ethernet sla statistics<noCmdBold> may be slightly incorrect due to an extra result being considered.

This extra result is always the first result in a burst and it calculated using the last sample of the previous burst. This only affects jitter statistics as two samples are needed to calculate a jitter result.

This extra result will be explicitly seen using <CmdBold>show ethernet sla statistics detail<noCmdBold> if collecting un-aggregated samples for jitter statistics. For example, if sending 5 packets in a burst, 5 jitter results will be seen instead of 4.

Conditions:

Ethernet SLA is configured to collect round trip or one-way jitter.
