Cisco Bug: CSCtd78520 - IOS buffer size information to be added in wccp documentation in waas

Last Modified

May 28, 2010

Products (1)

  • Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) Appliances

Known Affected Releases

4.1(5)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Continuous messages seen on Router console:
%SYS-2-GETBUF: Bad getbuffer, bytes= <size> -Process= "WCCP V2 Protocol", ipl= 0, pid= <pid>

Conditions:

These messages are seen when a request is made for a buffer larger than the configured maximum. With more WAE's in the farm, and with bigger mask values of 7 bits, we could get into a situation where the Here-I-Am/ I-See-You WCCP messages exceed the maximum configured limits on the router and hence get dropped.

The issue is seen with any IOS version on the router that supports Mask assignment including Cat6K, cat4K, ISR2x00, ISR3x00.
