Symptom: An MSB Firewall blade in a XR12000 router running 3.5.2 may reload with the following error... spu_main: %L2-SPU-3-COREDUMP_FP_NOTIF : SPU fatal error occured ... Fast path ME are stopped . Core dump will be stored on CP Conditions: This is a rare case and the conditions that triigger this problem are unknown. Collect the core file from the core: directory on the MSB and check that the ME fastpath utilization was 100%. cdump -u ME Utilization Statistics -------------- RECEIVE: 30 FASTPATH: 100 REASSEMBLY: 0 TCP_RX: 0 HTTP: 0 IH_RX: 0 ICM: 0 CM_CLOSE: 0 X_TO_ME: 0 TCP_TX: 0 FIXUP: 0 OCM: 0 SLOWTX_BCM0_RINGID_0: 0 SLOWTX_BCM1_RINGID_0: 0 Having Fastpath utilization at 100% is evidence that that the microengine (ME) was stopped. 100% utilization does not happen in normal MSB operation. A watchdog monitors the ME utilization and in case of full load for 2 sec it will reload MSB.
