Description (partial)

Symptom:

On a Nexus 7000 switch with a Copper SFP installed, the link status may be declared up even if there is no cable attached to the trasceiver.

Conditions:

This only occurs if the speed is hard coded and auto-negotiation is disabled

Workaround(s):

Configure the interface for auto-negotiation.
