Cisco Bug: CSCtd70990 - SIA observed with parallel links in complex topologies

Last Modified

Mar 09, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

4.2(2a)E3

Description (partial)

Symptom:
SIA may occur in complex EIGRP topologies with a large number of prefixes, when there are parallel L3 links between the same two routers.

Conditions:
If a large number of EIGRP updates and/or queries occur at the same time, some prefixes can become stuck-in-active.

Workaround(s):
Remove the parallel L3 links between routers, if feasible. If link redundancy is required between the same two routers, use a L3 port channel with multiple member interfaces rather than using parallel L3 links.
