Symptom: After the 'logging monitor' config change is executed, no syslog messages were logged to the terminal line/session. In the terminal line/session below, 'terminal monitor' is executed to cause syslog messages to be displayed on terminal line/session, and a syslog message is displayed when user exit the config session. However, after changing 'logging monitor' from sev7 to sev6, no more syslog messages are displayed on the terminal line/session, until the 'terminal monitor' command is executed again: n1k# conf n1k(config)# n1k# 2009 Dec 7 17:06:51.323 n1k %VSHD-5-VSHD_SYSLOG_CONFIG_I: Configured from vty by test on 10.102.214.47@pts/0 2009 Dec 7 17:06:51.334 n1k 4390]: CLIC-6-EXIT_CONFIG: Configured from 0 by systest n1k# n1k# sh logging monitor Logging monitor: enabled (Severity: debugging) n1k# n1k# conf n1k(config)# logging monitor 6 n1k(config)# n1k# n1k# conf n1k(config)# n1k# n1k# n1k# conf n1k(config)# n1k# n1k# n1k# terminal monitor n1k# n1k# conf n1k(config)# n1k# 2009 Dec 7 17:08:53.568 n1k %VSHD-5-VSHD_SYSLOG_CONFIG_I: Configured from vty by test on 10.102.214.47@pts/0 2009 Dec 7 17:08:53.573 n1k 4390]: CLIC-6-EXIT_CONFIG: Configured from 0 by systest n1k# After the 'logging monitor' configuration, the syslog messages will stop showing up on all terminal lines/sessions that have 'terminal monitor' enabled.
