Last Modified

Mar 31, 2011

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch for VMware vSphere

Known Affected Releases

4.0(4)SV1(2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When the 'copy core://<mod>/<pid> sftp:' command is used to copy core file to a sftp location, the core filename is changed to <pid> in the target location instead of retaining the original filename; in the following, the destination filename of the core file is 3360 instead of 1259061953_0x101_sf_nf_srv_log.3360.tar.gz:
n1k# sh cores
VDC No Module-num Process-name PID Core-create-time
------ ---------- ------------ --- ----------------
1 1 sf_nf_srv 3360 Nov 24 06:25
n1k# copy core://1/3360 sftp:
Enter vrf (If no input, current vrf 'default' is considered):
Enter hostname for the sftp server: 172.18.177.140
Enter username: test
File transfer in progress, please wait ...
Connecting to 172.18.177.140...
test@172.18.177.140's password:
sftp> put /var/sysmgr/logs/1259061953_0x101_sf_nf_srv_log.3360.tar.gz 3360
Uploading /var/sysmgr/logs/1259061953_0x101_sf_nf_srv_log.3360.tar.gz to /users/test/3360
/var/sysmgr/logs/1259061953_0x101_sf_nf_srv_l 100% 6881KB 6.7MB/s 00:01
sftp> exit

The core filename is changed only if the destination filesystem is ftp:, sftp: or scp:, tftp: destination filesystem works properly.

If 'copy core: sftp:' command is used to interactively specified the <module> and <pid>, the original core filename is retained:
n1k# copy core: sftp:
Enter module number:1
Enter the pid:3360
Enter vrf (If no input, current vrf 'default' is considered):
Enter hostname for the sftp server: 172.18.177.140
Enter username: test
File transfer in progress, please wait ...
