Last Modified

Jan 07, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

3.6.2.BASE 3.7.0.BASE 3.8.1.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:

Multicast traffic drop on SRP interface when there is a FO and a
simultaneous routing change on the downstream router

 Conditions:

On a broadcast type interfaces (SRP/Broadcast Ethernet) if the interface is
in the forwarding and a assert condition is detected during NSF (Failover),
The EG flag on the SRP interface is turned off.
However post-NSF, if there was routing change on the downstream router, the
EG flag is not turned back on resulting in permanent traffic loss.
