Cisco Bug: CSCtd35344 - "no connection" syslogs not sent and NP3 soft asserts increment

Last Modified

Feb 22, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Firewall Services Module

Known Affected Releases

4.0(4) 4.1(14)

Description (partial)

None
Symptom:

With the tcp-state-bypass configured via MPC, in certain configuration the log message
"%FWSM-3-106015: Deny TCP (no connection)" might not be logged for the TCP segments belonging to the
connections not subject to state bypass.

The packets are still dropped correctly, however.

Conditions:

At least one scenario involves the following condition to have the message suppressed unnecessarily:

1. The inbound ACL matches the incoming non-SYN segment (either permit or deny)
2. The MPC access-list that specifies the traffic to enable the TCP bypass on, does *not* match the
incoming non-SYN segment.
