Description (partial)

Symptom:

Heavy traffic load due to ping pong of packets (with decrementing ttl) between router configured for dlsw transparent. This will only appear on the native vlan.
Conditions: 

Dlsw transparent configured on router pair, with sub-interfaces and IP connectivity on the native vlan and a steady stream of unanswered IP packets (eg: a unicast UDP stream).
