Description (partial)

In LMS 3.1 and 3.2, discovery can take a long time to complete when CDP is selected as the discovery module if there are a lot of IP Telephony devices in the network

By default, the discovery process ignores Cisco IP Phones when it sees them as a CDP Neighbour, because Cisco IP Phones do not respond to snmp. There are however several other types of IP Telephony devices that appear as a CDP Neighbour, which don't respond to snmp, but the discovery process does not ignore them. Hence the CDP discovery process is slowed down waiting for snmp timeouts to occur when it attempts to access these devices via snmp.
These devices return the following values for cdpCachePlatform :
* Cisco ATA 186
* Cisco ATA 188
* cisco VG248
* Cisco IP Conference Station 7936
* Communicator (Windows 2003)
* Communicator (Windows XP)
