Description (partial)

The classifiers for Cisco DPC2607 Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) types correctly identify the CPE, but the filters are not effective in filtering the packets from these devices.

This issue occurs during a normal operation of the cable plant. Some CPEs send an ARP before sending a DHCP Discover message. This causes the CPE to be populated in the CMTS database as an unknown device type. When the CPE sends the DHCP discover message, the device type is updated in the software, but the hardware entries are still categorized as unknown.
