Cisco Bug: CSCtc70997 - Mesh documentation incorrectly states you need to configure a MAC Filter
Apr 12, 2010
- Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: This is a clarification request. Conditions: Mesh documentation incorrectly states you must configure a MAC Filter for a Mesh AP. Documentation States: You must enter the MAC address for all mesh access points that you want to use in the mesh network into the appropriate controller. A controller only responds to discovery requests from outdoor radios that appear in its authorization list. MAC filtering is enabled by default on the controller, so only the MAC addressed need be configured. If the Access Point has an SSC and has been added to the AP Authorization List then the AP can be made to be a Bridge. Therefore the AP does not need to be added to the MAC Filtering List.
