- Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 Series
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Battery life can be reduced when the 7921/7925 receives a periodic ClearPrompt SCCP message as that puts the phone into active mode for a short period of time. Conditions: Using latest version of CME, and configuring the default prompt to specific string like XYZ: <CmdBold>Telephony service</CmdBold> <CmdBold>system message</CmdBold> <CmdArg> XYZ </CmdArg> In certain CME configuration environment, the 7921/7925 phones would drain more battery power. When the administrator for the CME configured the default prompt for the 7921/7925: <CmdBold>Telephony service</CmdBold> <CmdBold>system message</CmdBold> <CmdArg> XYZ </CmdArg> The CME will periodically sent: StationClearDisplayID StationDisplayPromptStatusMessageID Thus, the WLAN module in 7921/7925 would go into ACTIVE mode very often. This result in draining of battery power.
