Cisco Bug: CSCtc36777 - Bundle members should not be allowed while bundle is configured on MSTP
Jan 16, 2017
- Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers
Known Affected Releases
3.7.1.BASE 3.9.0.BASE 3.9.1.BASE
Symptom: It is possible to mis-configure MSTP to run on an interface that is also a member of a bundle. Given such a mis-configuration, it is unlikely that MSTP will operate as expected. The exact operation of the protocol in this case is undefined, but symptoms could include forwarding loops, loss of connectivity, or the topology failing to converge to a stable state. Conditions: The problem is seen when an interface named under the <CmdBold>spanning-tree mst<noCmdBold> <CmdArg>name<noCmdArg> submode is also be configured as a bundle member, specified using <CmdBold>bundle id<noCmdBold> <CmdArg>id<noCmdArg>. The problem affects all versions of MSTP on IOS-XR, from release 3.7.1 onwards.
