Description (partial)

Symptom:
(1) Messages of the form begin appearing frequently (approximately once per minute) on the console::

<I>
ERROR sysdb fixtab ref (Invalid argument) from nonpositive refcount (-32767) attr=/sw/dns/host/name, pid=2292'/bin/cdpd'

ERROR sysdb fixtab deref (Invalid argument) yields negative refcount (-32767) attr=/sw/dns/host/name, pid=2292'/bin/cdpd
</I>

and messages of the following form begin appearing frequently (also about once every minute) in messages.log:

<I>
Sep 16 11:05:15 localhost superthread: 2009 Sep 16 11:05:15 GMT +0000: superthread: INFO superthread server output ERROR sysdb fixtab ref (Invalid argument) from nonpositive refcount (--32767) attr=/sw/dns/host/name, pid=2477'/opt/IBM-ME-2.3.1/jre/bin/j9 -jcl:foun11 ... /bin/superthread.dat'
</I>

Over time the refcount in the message will increase.

(2) The <CmdBold>show version<noCmdBold> command will fail during the periods when
the above error messages are appearing.

(3) The <CmdBold>show run<noCmdBold> command will seemingly work but print an error
message during the periods when the above error messages are appearing.

(4) The <CmdBold>write memory<noCmdBold> command will seemingly work, but will fail to
include the <CmdBold>hostname<noCmdBold> command in the startup-config if executed
during the periods when the above error messages are appearing.

Conditions:
The messages will probably begin appearing about 11 days after the system is restarted, and will continue to appear for about 11 days, then cease. This should repeat - 11 days off, 11 days on, until the system is reloaded.

(The duration of 11 days is not certain. It may be a few days more or less than this.)
