Cisco Bug: CSCtc23336 - ESS: Stuck EVSI delete allows only one HW-Err for multiple EVSI Reuses
Feb 28, 2017
- Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Under heavy PTA or LNS Broadband session flapping or intermittent feature timing conditions, QFP session resources may not be freed and will be reused in subsequent new session creations. This reuse may generate IOS console and/or OS-XR tracelog error messages such as, but not limited to: --- 02/14 17:21:02.432 [errmsg]: (ERR): %FMFP-3-OBJ_DWNLD_TO_CPP_FAILED: intf EVSI67206136, handle 67206136, cpp handle 0 download to CPP failed OR ... 09/28 12:35:50.489 [ess]: (ERR): ess segment get evsi AOM obj failed, evsi 16500 seg_id 0x0040740172dc6c ret 0(Success) the evsi is pending for delete. --- These types of error messages may cause the active session to experience internet access failures. Conditions: Large scaling of 8K or more and/or heavy session flapping greater than 10% of the active max sessions may trigger this condition. PPP Keep-Alives will "not" teardown the failed session since the Keep-Alive packet handling remains functional.
