Cisco Bug: CSCtc11035 - DST change for Western Australia

Last Modified

May 09, 2012

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unity Servers

Known Affected Releases

8.0(1.9)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Western Australia Daylight Savings time has changed and impacts the time stamps on messages.

Conditions:

The time zone for Western Australia has been updated to account that daylight savings time will not be used going forward, at least until it is decided to be changed again. The time zone in question is known as Western Standard Time (WST). In the Unity PCA application, this time zone is selected by choosing the time zone listed as "Perth." The same is true for the Unity SA.

Note: the code change done here applies to the PCA application only and then only if "Perth" is selected as the time zone for a subscriber. This code change has no bearing on time stamps as given on the telephone.

If a subscriber chooses the "default" selection for a time zone AND the Unity server is in fact located in the WST time zone, then an update to the Java run-time is also needed. Otherwise, an incorrect time stamp can appear on messages when viewed in the Unity Inbox. In general, the update to the Java runtime should be done regardless and is available for download here:
