Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco IOS

Known Affected Releases

12.2(33)SB7

Description (partial)

Symptom:

QoS policing is reported applied to the session OK, but when the average limit is set to 4 Mbps the subscriber is able to pass traffic at up to 6 Mbps:

<…>
     Traffic class session ID: 53
      ACL Name: BW_METER, Packets = 0, Bytes = 0
<…>
After 15 seconds
<…>
     Traffic class session ID: 53
      ACL Name: BW_METER, Packets = 7031, Bytes = 9466099
<…>

the average rate being ca. 5.05 Mbps therefore.

The problem appears to affect equally the upstream and the downstream directions.

Conditions:

The policing still works correctly for data rates up to ca. 1.5 Mbps.
