Last Modified

Jan 31, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco IOS

Known Affected Releases

12.2(31)SGA2

Description (partial)

Symptom:

Switch ---- Host

When the host sends traffic by changing the source mac address and when port-security is configured, high cpu is seen because of mac learning

Conditions:

When port-security is configured on the interface and when packets are sent at a very low rate (5 packets/second), as the source mac on the packets are changed, mac learning happens everytime. The source mac is learnt through reviews which consumes the cpu. This condition will not affect any other functionality in the system
