Cisco Bug: CSCtb63152 - Lower severity of PQMON queue threshold and drop messages

Last Modified

Jan 16, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

3.8.3.BASE 3.8.3.ROUT

Description (partial)

Symptom:

PQMON queue threshold and drop messages seen on console/syslog are recorded as sev3 (error) messages. However, since these messages are more of the informational kind, this DDTS has been logged to lower severity of these messages to sev6 (informational).

Conditions:

These messages are seen when there are drops and build-up in software queues. These messages are not an "issue" if there are no session flaps or traffic loss. The messages serve the purpose of alerting the user that there are drops and build-up on software queues and if there are any side effects and then those side effects can be correlated with the PQMON messages for better triaging/debugging.
