Cisco Bug: CSCtb49797 - Unnecessary SNAP frame is sent when redundant intf switchover occurs
Nov 09, 2016
- Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: When redundant interface switchover occurs in transparent mode, ASA sends multicast SNAP frame to update switch's MAC address table. In this case, new Active interface sends SNAP frame with source MAC address learned from old Active interface. This can cause switch's MAC address table incorrectly updated. Conditions: This symptom is observed when redundant interface is configured in transparent mode.
