Description (partial)

Symptom:
The 'show interface' reports "media type is No Gbic" for an interface
but the interface is actually up.

Conditions:
This applies to non-E-series line cards that accept SFPs and GBICs.
Examples are WS-X4306 and WS-X4515. The behavior is only seen when the
SFP or GBIC is quickly removed and then inserted. This behavior is not
seen if the GBIC is removed and not reinserted until after the "GBIC removed"
console message appears.

This behavior is not seen on E-series line cards
