Description (partial)

Updating the Voice Mail profile of a line associated with a device profile, does not take effect immediately. For all other changes (e.g. adding a new line) the change is reflected immediately because the phone will automatically restart. In order to change the pilot point number accordingly to the new Voice Mail profile, you need to login/logout from EM or reset the device.
For a normal phone without EM this is not needed, the phone will restart and take the change.
