Cisco Bug: CSCtb37115 - jds: failover not occurring

Last Modified

Nov 08, 2010

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM & Presence Service

Known Affected Releases

8.0(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The Cisco UP XCP Directory Service may not fail over from the primary LDAP server to the secondary LDAP server(s) when the primary server fails or is unavailable. As a result, contact searches from third-party XMPP clients may fail.

Conditions:
On the LDAP Settings - Third-Party XMPP Clients, CUP is configured with LDAP Server 1, LDAP Server 2, and optionally, LDAP Server 3.

If, on start-up of the Cisco UP XCP Directory Service the LDAP Server configured as LDAP Server 1 is not available or is not-contactable by CUP, contact searches from third-party XMPP clients may fail.

If the LDAP Server configured as LDAP Server 1 becomes unavailable or not-contactable by CUP, subsequent contact searches from third-party XMPP clients may fail.
