Cisco Bug: CSCtb33655 - Fix release notes on CSA driver loading in safe mode

Last Modified

Aug 01, 2010

Products (1)

  • Cisco Security Agent

Known Affected Releases

6.0(1.107) 6.0(2.41)

Description (partial)

Documentation in builds of CSA 6.0 prior to state the following in
"System Requirements::Windows Safe Mode" :

"The Cisco Security Agent drivers do not load when systems are booted in Safe
Mode. Therefore, the agent enforces no security in safe mode. This is done to
allow the agent to be uninstalled if a system failure occurs and the system
cannot be booted normally due to the agent."

Though the description is generally accurate, it does not explicitly state that
the CSA drivers are indeed loaded in safe mode; but that the CSA drivers detect
that they are in safe mode and become totally transparent (or functionally
absent). "Do not load" should be removed.

Cisco Security Agent version 6.0 or greater
