Description (partial)

802.3 OAM sessions may flap due to failure to send heartbeat OAMPDUs when the ifmgr process restarts.

One or more 802.3 OAM sessions on the node on which the process restarted may go down briefly, as indicated by messages similar to the following.

LC/0/4/CPU0:Jul 6 15:27:41.030 : ethernet_link_oam_daemon[158]: %L2-ELO-6-CPU_STARVED : Ethernet Link OAM Daemon has been unable to send heartbeats for 8547 ms
LC/0/4/CPU0:Jul 6 15:27:41.030 : ethernet_link_oam_daemon[158]: %L2-ELO-6-INTF_SESSION_DOWN : TenGigE0/4/0/1: OAM session has gone down
LC/0/4/CPU0:Jul 6 15:27:41.043 : ethernet_link_oam_daemon[158]: %L2-ELO-6-INTF_SESSION_UP : TenGigE0/4/0/1: OAM session has come up

The problem can occur when the ifmgr process is restarted using the <CmdBold>process restart<noCmdBold> command, restarts during a software installation event, or restarts unexpectedly due to a defect. The problem is more likely to occur if the process restarts multiple times in quick succession.
