Cisco Bug: CSCtb25568 - ASA does not initiate an ARP entry with a Gratuitous ARP
Nov 09, 2016
- Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: To mitigate any possible ARP table exhaustion attacks from malicious users, the ASA will not populate a new ARP entry upon receipt of a Gratuitous ARP. Current ARP entries can still be updated upon Gratuitous ARP. In some network scenarios, it may be preferred to allow the ASA to populate the ARP table upon receipt of a Gratuitous ARP. Conditions: No current ARP entry must exist in the ARP table.
