Cisco Bug: CSCtb19762 - L2VPN traffic dropped on ingress PE

Last Modified

May 15, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

3.9.0.ROUT

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Configuring a subinterface or to a l2transport subinterface MAY get a multibit or single bit error:
LC/0/1/CPU0:Aug 5 15:21:36.367 : plaspa_server[122]: %L2-PLIM_ASIC-3-HW_ERR : plaspa instance 0 L2P UIDB VALUE RAM Multiple ECC, reprogram the uidb hash table

Ingress traffic to a subinterface or to a l2transport subinterface on a CRS jacket card may get the wrong uidb. This means either it will be sent to a wrong destination or it may be dropped in L2P drop:

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:P#show controllers plim asic stat summary loc 0/1/cpu0
...
RMC Tail Drop: 0 L2P Drop : 76321593

Conditions:

In rare scale configuration of subinterfaces or l2transport subinterfaces on a CRS jacket card, this problem might occur. This problem does not occur on CRS fixed plim cards.
