Cisco Bug: CSCtb11454 - Configuration not auto-saved when rolling over (new CA validity start)

Last Modified

Feb 15, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco IOS

Known Affected Releases

12.4(15)T9

Description (partial)

Symptom:
On IOS router doing Certificate auto-enrollment, when used with a CA server doing a CA rollover, the router will retrieve the new CA and own certificate ahead of the current CA certificate expiration.

The retrieval will cause a configuration change (the rollover certificates are saved in the certificate chain of the trustpoint) which will be automatically saved.

However when the rollover certificates become active, the new configuration change (removal of the now expired certificates and renaming of the rollover certificates) will not be saved automatically.
Conditions:
This only happens in the condition described above, auto-saving happens as expected after regular re-enrollment (when no CA certificate changes).
