Description (partial)

Symptom:

This is an enhancement request only. This defect is filed so, that the FWSM will send gratuitous arp for all the global IPs configured in case of a mac-address change.

Conditions:

1. When  the primary FWSM is replaced,  the secondary FWSM presently active will assume the new active mac-address of the replaced primary FWSM as it will be new active mac-address.

or

2. when the units failover

In both the above conditions, the FWSM only sends gratuitous arp for its itnerface IP addresses as documented here:
