Description (partial)

With the NAM powered on, monitor session configured and without a buffer capturing, much traffic was lost passing through the ACE. With 3 to 6Gbps of data passing through the ACE, up to 2Gbs of traffic was lost. The fabric showed the nam at 98%. With the NAM powered down or the captures session removed no traffic was lost.

Symptom:
This defect applies to NAM on Cat6K/7600 only. All the NAM platforms are not affected.

Conditions:
NAM data ports are Gigabit Ethernet ports. The NAM can handle roughly about 900 MBits/sec of raw packet data. SPAN'ing more than 1 Gigabits/sec traffic will make the NAM unresponsive and in this case, affect the SUP performance.
