Cisco Bug: CSCta40119 - Link OAM: peer does not restablish after shut/no shut on MUX UNI interfa

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco 7600 Series Routers

Known Affected Releases

12.2(33)SRC2

Description (partial)

Symptom:
WIth Mux Uni and switchport confguration , ether OAM session on the swicthport interface fails to establish an oam session with the peer. This happens when the native vlan ( vlan 1) is explicitly allowed on the trunk and the Spanning tree is in PVST mode and ST is explicitly disbale on the vlans in question including the native vlan.
Conditions:
When the native vlan is explicitly allowed on the Trunk, and with the Mux Uni configuration the native vlan on that port goes to vlan blocking state. As PVST is not running on the native vlan for the port, once disabled the native vlan remains in disbaled state for ever. So no ethernet OAM BPDU's will be accepted ( as they are recived on native vlan). Hence any ethernet oam session will fail.
