Cisco Bug: CSCta29735 - Doc: ACS NAP Regular Expression Documentation incorrect

Last Modified

Mar 12, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Secure Access Control Server for Windows

Known Affected Releases

4.2(0.124)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

The documentation for regex (regular expression) use in ACS NAP advanced filters erroneously states that the only supported operators are:

-^ (caret)-The ^ operator matches the start of a string.
-$ (dollar)-The $ operator matches the end of a string.

But some standard regex expressions such as [0-9] to represent a single number also work
correctly.

Documentation in question is
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_windows/4.2/user/guide/NAPs.html

under table 14-2, in the "Advanced Filtering" under "Operator" and within the "regular expression" bullet.

Conditions:

Documentation issue when attempting to use regular expressions within ACS NAP Advanced
Filters.
