Description (partial)

If dot1x is disabled globally with the command 'no dot1x system-auth-control', ports that are configured for dot1x do not allow traffic from the client.

This is an expected behavior with 12.2(50)SE and later images as "authentication port-control auto" controls the authentication on the port and it is not specific to 802.1x method starting from 12.2(50)SE.

Switch running 12.2(50)SE with dot1x globally disabled and "authentication port-control auto" configuration on the ports.
