Cisco Bug: CSCta08868 - OSPF fails to remove an old path from RIB
Jan 10, 2017
- Cisco Carrier Routing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: OSPF may leave a stale path to the given network destination in the routing table. The routing table may end up having more paths than allowed by the "maximum path" ospf configuration command. The stale path can lead to a suboptimal routing, or even to a persistent routing loop. Conditions: There needs to be routes in OSPF with more parallel paths available in the network, than the maximum allowed paths that ospf is allowed to install in the routing table. This would typically happen when the "maximum paths" command is used in ospf with a small number of allowed paths. Problem may happen when there is a change in the network that affects routes meeting the above condition.
