Cisco Bug: CSCta08186 - WLC doesn't support case-sensitive dynamic interfaces

Last Modified

Jun 30, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers

Known Affected Releases

5.2(178.0) 5.2(188.0)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

If you type via CLI upper case characters in an interface name. Then the CLI will show you the right case sensitive information.
However in the web GUI and in reality the WLC is considering only lower case information for interface name, so the interface will be all lower case in reality.
This means that the mapping of any WLAN to this case sensitive dynamic interface will fallback to "management" interface.

Conditions:

5.2 WLC (possibly earlier as well, not tested) and case sensitive dynamic interface created via command line.
