Description (partial)

Symptom:
IP Phone service url is configured for hostname instead IP. DNS is configured for failover. However IP phone does not even attemp to query the secondary DNS server.  


Conditions:
IP Phone does not query secondary DNS server on reason codes like when the DNS service goes down etc.

Phone must be configured for a primary and backup dns server.  Phone must be a 3rd gen phone examples: 7970, 7971, 7975, 7941, 7942, 7961, 7962, 7965.
