Cisco Bug: CSCsz89606 - AP unable to perform DNS based on given DHCP DNS options
Jan 29, 2017
- Cisco IOS
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: A lightweight access point may be unable to discover a WLC based upon the "cisco-lwapp-controller.DOMAINNAME" DNS name. The access point correctly receives the proper domain name from its DHCP server; however, it subsequently queries for the bogus DNS name "CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER.cisco.com", rather than using the correct domain name. Conditions: AP attempting to use the DNS method to discover its WLC.
