Cisco Bug: CSCsz74917 - Cisco DRF Master service should be restricted to only run on FirstNode
Feb 22, 2014
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Cannot deactivate the Cisco DRF Master service on subscriber nodes of a CUCM cluster which do not need to run this service for backups to work properly. Conditions: By default, the DRF Master service is installed as a Network Service on all nodes of a CUCM cluster (FirstNode/Publisher + all Subscriber nodes). Therefore, the DRF Master service is always running on all nodes in a cluster . However, the DRF Master service only needs to be running on the FirstNode (aka Publisher node) of the cluster. The Cisco DRF Local service is the only backup related service that needs to be running on the subscriber nodes of a cluster. Since it is not possible to deactivate any Network Service, it is not possible to deactivate the DRF Master service on the subscriber nodes where it is not needed. CSCsz74917 is a request to restrict the Cisco DRF Master service to run on the FirstNode/Publisher only.
