Last Modified

Jan 29, 2017

Products (2)

  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch for VMware vSphere
  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch

Known Affected Releases

4.0(4)SV1(2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:

VSM receiving duplicate packets and modules not coming up even though you do not have duplicate VSM running in active mode with same domain ID and control VLAN.

To verify that you hit exactly the same issue, please run the following command on the VEM

<CmdBold>vemcmd show l2 <CmdArg><control vlan><noCmdArg><noCmdBold>

If you see the VSM VM's eth0 MAC entry as "dynamic" then it is the same issue.

Conditions:

This symptom will be seen only when the VSM and VEM get reconnected. This could happen when VSM is reloaded.
