Last Modified

Jan 28, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco ME 3400 Series Ethernet Access Switches

Known Affected Releases

12.2(50)SE1

Description (partial)

Symptom:

A Cisco ME-3400 configured for Layer 2 Protocol Tunneling (L2PT ) will forward a tunneled L2PT
PDU ( cdp, stp , vtp , udld ) coming from a L2PT enabled port rather than dropping the frame.

A port configured for L2PT should not accept tunneled PDUs because this is indicative of a software configuration problem or layer 2 loop.

Conditions:

The following error message would be printed when this bug is seen.
"PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: l2ptguard error detected on Fa0/2, putting Fa0/2 in err-disable state"
